RAGBRAI has come and gone.  Thank you to all our volunteers and visitors.

Teams looking for a place near Tama-Toledo to camp (most with RV sites) are encouraged to check out Otter Creek Lake and Park, the Outback Campground, the campground at the Club S.P.O.R.T. OHV Park, the Meskwaki Hotel-Bingo-Casino, and Pilgrim Heights Camp and Retreat.

Otter Creek is a Tama Co. Conservation Board park situated about 3 miles northeast of Toledo (6.5 miles by road) at N 42° 02’ 44”, W 92°  31’ 02”.   The park features a 65-acre lake and 65 electric RV sites plus 18 tent sites.

The Outback Campground is a privately owned, newly renovated camp with a lodge, cabins, tent and RV sites.  Outback is about 1.5 miles west of Tama;  at N 41° 58’ 27”, W 92°  36’ 59” it’s just off the RAGBRAI route coming into town.

Club S.P.O.R.T. maintains an OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) park with 13 large (could accommodate up to 26 RVs) electric RV camp sites and nearly unlimited non-electric sites on the south side of Tama on US Highway 63.  Electric sites run $10/night and non-electric are $3/night.  The park is located at N 41° 57’ 26”, W 92°  34’ 33” and will be closed to ATV’s on July 23rd to avoid any mishaps with the influx of RAGBAI traffic.

Meskwaki Bingo-Casino-Hotel is an extremely popular area destination.  Located about 5 miles west of Tama-Toledo at N 41° 59’ 43”, W 92°  40’ 06” the complex features a casino, hotel, restaurants, shops, fuel and trading post.  They have 50 paved, pull-through electric RV sites with toilets, showers, laundry facilities and dump station available.

Pilgrim Heights Camp and Retreat is a United Church of Christ facility featuring hotel-style and rustic cabin housing along with tent camping.  At N 42° 00’ 35”, W 92°  41’ 13”, it’s near US Highway 30 and just over 5 miles west of downtown Toledo.
